On September 23, 2017, I led a workshop during the ACT-W Seattle 2017 Conference on “Introduction to AR/VR Development using Unity3D”.
ACT-W is ChickTech’s regional event that recurs annually, where talented women and individuals build skills, grow their community, and accelerate their career path. The conference includes speaking sessions, hands-on workshops, lightning talks and a career fair. The conference benefits professionals that attend and all of the proceeds
go directly towards introducing young adults to STEM-based activities and careers.
It was exciting to get more women introduced to the field of AR/VR. The attendees left with a working AR application that they built from scratch and the knowledge to deploy the applications they build to different devices.
I carry out these workshops to bring women to the AR/VR/MR development community and hence have diverse ideas on the table during design and deployment of applications. Do reach out if you would like to discuss more on this topic.
