On 18 November, 2017, I was officially recognized as a Science Communication Fellow at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. This Portal to the Public project enables me to discuss the benefits of teleoperation, haptics and robotics in the field of surgery with people in the Greater Seattle area.
The general public is not aware of the benefits of robotics due to miscommunication of information by news reports and movies. I intend to educate children and adults about the field of Surgical Robotics and address their concerns about the field.
As a Fellow, I will be hosting a hands-on activity booth at the Pacific Science Center and giving talks through their Science in the City program.
