First of all, congratulations for the success of ProjectLibre! I've been usin OpenProj and now I am switching to PL :)
Gantt Project is GPL open source software that offers project scheduling as its main function. Working on a desktop-client architecture, this file based project management tool allows not just scheduling of tasks, but resource management as well, through resource load charts. It supports MS Project, PDF, CSV and HTML file types. You could use as alternatives. Once installed, the pdf maker appears as a printer in your list of installed devices. In Project then, you create the view you want and print it to the pdf device just like you'd send it to paper hard copy. Creating a pdf file is not the same thing as exporting the Gantt chart to.
I like the export as pdf function, which is good for printing it out. The problem is that when there are a lot of tasks and the duration of the project is long, the gant elements are very far from the task name, which is only in the first page. Would it be possible to add the label also at the start of every gantt bar? That would make the pdf view much more friendly!
Also, do you have any plans on adding the possibility for exporting in other formats? For example, GNOME Planner has a very cool feature for exporting as html, which is very user friendly when presenting a project using a projector or a pc screen.
Extending Gantt charting for Project Management Extending Gantt charting for Project Management In order to manage a project, still more information is needed. The progress of any task should be tracked as a percentage of the task and displayed in the chart, and the dependencies of.
Thanks again for the great work!
