Kabbani Twitch

MYTH (Ali Kabbani) – Twitch streamer for Team SoloMid (TSM). Plays Fortnite like a beast. As one of the top Twitch streamers for Fortnite, you know TSM. 'The only way to avoid the rumors is to not play with them at all,' Tyler 'NInja' Blevins tells Polygon of why he chooses not to play with women in his Fortnite streams on Twitch.

Twitch has undeniably had a wild year, with the streaming site permanently banning Dr DisRespectfor an as of yet unspecified reason, suspending Donald Trump's account on the platform, and receiving several sexual assault allegations that have revealed some dark truths about many of its biggest names. Alongside that, it seems this year has also unveiled the disgusting side of many female streamers' communities, with Sweet Anita recently talking about a stalker that's been sending her abuse online.

Another female streamer who is, unfortunately, no stranger to abuse from commenters is Imane 'Pokimane' Anys, one of Twitch's biggest icons and a significant member of the streaming community in general. Pokimane has talked at length before about some of the inappropriate behavior of her followers, explaining to fans why she needed bodyguards at TwitchCon and even having to tell her viewers to stop asking her for gamer girl bathwater following Belle Delphine's now-infamous internet stunt.

It seems Pokimane's most recent form of abuse online comes from commenters telling her that she only has a following because of her looks, with social media users telling her that no fans watch her streams for her personality. However, it seems the Twitch mainstay isn't going to take the baseless comments lying down, with Pokimane recently clapping back with a brilliant tweet directed at the negative comments. 'People don't watch you for your personality or your gameplay,' Pokimane begins her tweet with, referring to the aforementioned comments flooding her timeline. 'Just averaged 11k+ viewers with no cam, late at night, and with a 10s delay.'

Kabbani Twitch Myth

While the tweet itself is pretty solid proof that Pokimane has a dedicated following, the comments only better affirm the idea, with some of her biggest fans and fellow streamers chiming in with their support. The tweet itself is currently sitting at a whopping 111,000 likes and has seen Pokimane dip into the comments to rebute some of her followers. One chimes in 'If it’s not such a big deal then why even respond to it,' with Pokimane responding 'it’s a comment I get frequently, and so I chose to address it with facts.'

With Twitch streamers getting endless online hate day after day, it's great to see a content creator as big as Pokimane not settle for inappropriate comments from her fanbase that do little more than try to belittle her. As many will know, the streamer actually recently signed a huge, multi-year deal with Twitch, so regardless of what her detractors may say, she's not going anywhere anytime soon.
