Microsoft introduced live transcription for Teams back in March, including speaker attribution, months after the feature was first announced. However, the transcription is currently only available for scheduled meetings, with speaker attribution based on the names used when people register for the meeting ahead of time.
Now, according to the Microsoft 365 roadmap's latest updates, Teams will soon deliver live transcription in unscheduled meetings, as well as channel meetings. According to the roadmap, both unscheduled and channel meetings will add support for live transcription in July, so it's still a ways off, but it's possible that preview users will get to try it out before then.
If most of your business meetings are online, Zoom is a great choice not only to record the conference call but also to transcribe it. This is seemingly planned for this month. Additionally, Power Automate templates will soon be added to certain Teams templates, so you can add a Power Automate tab to a team out of the box.
Outside of Teams, the most recent updates to the Microsoft 365 roadmap also include custom result types in Microsoft Search, allowing organizations to create adaptive card templates based on SharePoint content for when users look for certain types of answers. This is only coming towards the end of the year, though.
The crowded video conferencing market includes almost 200 web conferencing software tools. Zoom has emerged as a leader among them for meetings, webinars, and conference calls. Note: Only the host can enable recording or give a participant recording privileges.
To start recording before enabling screen sharing:
1. Once you’ve joined the meeting, click the ‘Record’ icon from the bottom menu.
2. That’s it! Your meeting is now recording.
3. To stop or pause the recording, click the appropriate button.
To start recording after enabling screen sharing:
1. After you’ve joined the meeting, click the ‘More’ option in the meeting controls menu. Then select ‘Record’ from the drop-down menu.
2. To pause or stop recording, click ‘More’ and choose your selection from the drop-down menu.

Reviewing Your Completed Transcript
When your transcript is finished, you’ll receive an email letting you know it’s ready for review.
Click the ‘Review and Edit Transcript’ button to go to your Rev account, where you can review the transcript alongside the recording.
You may want to give the transcript a quick read through to catch and fix any glaring errors. For a more thorough review, play the recording back and follow along with the transcript to verify accuracy. You can edit, highlight, strikethrough, and add notes within the transcript and even share it with other reviewers. After you’ve finished reviewing, you can export the finished transcript in Word, PDF, or .txt formats.
